Media Interest in Guernsey Hotting Up

Tuesday, 22 July, 2014

Earlier this morning we announced the news that squash player, Chris Simpson is going to bear the Guernsey flag in the opening ceremony of the Glasgow Commonwealth Games which is taking place tomorrow evening. Since our arrival we have continued to post updates about our teams experience here at the games. To date, a message about our team has been viewed three and a half million different Twitter feeds and as we near ever closer to the start of the competition media interest is beginning to hot up.

Today we completed various interviews, one of which included a team Guernsey interview with BBC Channel Islands news reporter Edward Sault. Apart from the obligatory selfie with their production team and a few of our cyclists they were also interested in speaking to our badminton team, swimmers as well as Angela Stuart, the Guernsey Commonwealth Games Secretary.
