Vale Pupil Wins £1000 Poster Competition

23rd March 2015

VALE Primary School pupil Aimee Gavey has won £1,000 worth of sporting equipment for her school after winning the Specsavers Youth Games poster competition.

The 11-year-old’s poster depicted the Guernsey flag surrounded by sports equipment. Aimee’s poster will be used to promote the Youth Games and she will also be given a £25 Lexicon voucher. Second place was awarded to her fellow Vale Primary School pupil Louise Le Tissier, 11, and third place was won by 11-year-old La Houguette School pupil Izabella Dupre. Both girls were also given £25 Lexicon vouchers.

Aimee and Louise will be presented with their prize by Youth Games co-ordinator Andrea Lord and Alex Costen from Specsavers at a special assembly at Vale School on Monday 23 March at 2.30pm. Izabella will be presented with her prize at a special assembly at La Houguette School on Thursday 26 March.

All Year 5 and 6 pupils were invited to enter the poster competition for the games, which give children the opportunity to try a sport they don’t usually take part in.

Coaching sessions will take place in the six weeks before the games themselves on Saturday 13 June.
