Sports Invited to Attend Data Protection Seminar
12th February 2018
A project that will see Guernsey introduce new data protection legislation in line with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force in May 2018, and applies to all companies worldwide that process the personal data of EU citizens. Guernsey must have similarly robust legislation if they are to maintain adequacy and ensure continued access to the EU single market, considered crucial for Guernsey's economy.
In order to ascertain the likely impact on local sports clubs / associations, the Guernsey Sports Commission will be hosting a seminar at which the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner will explain what effect the new GDPR will mean to us all.
This event will be held on Thursday 8th March at 7:00 p.m. in the Cambridge Room at Beau Sejour. We would urge all sports to send along a representative. After the presentation there will be a question and answer session.
