High quality coaching has been key to the success of many of our sporting heroes. The Guernsey Sports Commission’s Coaching Roll of Honour was established to recognize outstanding contributions to Guernsey sports by coaches. On Thursday 15th January 2015 we added the first five coaches to our Roll of Honour which features on a new display at Beau Sejour Leisure Centre.

High quality coaching has been key to the success of many of our sporting heroes. The Guernsey Sports Commission’s Coaching Roll of Honour will be established to recognize outstanding contributions to Guernsey sports by coaches.

Jeremy Frith, Performance Director at the Sports Commission, said "we are hugely honoured to be in a position to recognise the outstanding contributions these five individuals have made to their sports and our community. I consider all five to be not only great coaches but also outstanding individuals who have taken a genuine interest in not only their sport but the individuals themselves. Good coaches coach technique and tactics however the great coaches coach people, which is why we are recognising these individuals."

We also want your help to identify the other inspirational local coaches who have been outstanding within their sport. This could be in either performance or participation contexts, and over a long period of time. If you would like to nominate another coach get in touch with the Sports Commission via email info@guernseysports.com or call 747229 and use the criteria below to help you make your decision.
