The club was formed in 1984 and is run by a committee who are elected each year by the members at the AGM in November.
The Captain runs the playing calendar of Doubles, Triples and Singles, with many one off events and friendly melee’s. Our main club night is Wednesday when most of the competitions are staged. Monday afternoon 2pm play sees fewer members and a less competitive play, and seen as a good induction into the game of Petanque. Every Saturday afternoon at 2pm there are regular sessions of friendly melee’s and probably the best time for newcomers to visit the club and try the sport.
Each year an inter insular is held between ourselves and our neighbouring Island of Jersey, played in each island alternatively for the Victor Hugo Inter island Trophy. The club organises trips away to many different venues including Jersey, France, UK and Holland where petanque is played with many friends made over the years.
