The workshop uses practical examples and case studies to enable you to fully understand your role, as the Child Welfare Officer, in the club environment and how you can effectively safeguard people in your care.

The workshop is aimed at Welfare officers who have a designated welfare role within the club.

What is an ‘aware’ club?
Your role as a welfare officer
Supporting clubs and putting safeguards in place
Reporting procedures
Core legislation, government guidance and the national framework for child protection
The role and responsibilities of the statutory agencies and how your clubs procedures fit with these.
