Children benefit from Pod Partnership

Thanks to funding from the Guernsey Community Foundation, children with social, emotional and mental health needs are benefitting from new physical learning opportunities through a partnership between the Guernsey Sports Commission and La Mare de Carteret Primary School.

Support for The Pod, a small, bespoke and nurturing environment for children in years 1 to 4, has ensured the many benefits of physical activity have been explored and new programmes developed to support the children.

Marc Boyd, the Commission’s PE & Sport Development Officer based at the Pod, explains the benefits of the project in his report on the first year of operation.
