Guernsey Hockey is advertising for a new full-time Hockey Development Officer to replace Steve Eulenkamp who will be focusing his time on his full-time PE and Sport Development Officer role at the Guernsey Sports Commission.
'We would like to say a huge thank you to Steve for all he has done for Guernsey Hockey over the previous 5 years,' said Ali Le Tocq, CEO of Guernsey Hockey.
'Hockey is a game for all ages and abilities, and we want to increase participation and address issues of mental and physical health, wellbeing, and social inclusion through taking part in our sport. We are fortunate to have some fantastic facilities and we want hockey to be a fun, safe, inclusive, family-based sport which everyone can enjoy,’ said Ali.
'Hockey in Guernsey is in a really good place at the moment, but we are keen to see the game develop further at all levels. We are looking for someone with the skills and enthusiasm to lead hockey coaching and development activities throughout the club and the local community,' said Suzie Tee, Director of Junior Hockey.
The Guernsey Sports Commission is helping Guernsey Hockey with their recruitment drive.
'A full-time Development Officer will have the focus, time and attention to develop all aspects of their sport including working in schools and with other community partners as well as ensuring the sport is well run, inclusive and that there is a clear pathway from beginners to those that wish to take their sport to a higher level,' said Steve Sharman, the Commission's Relationship Director.
'Working in sport is really rewarding and can offer real job satisfaction so we would encourage anyone with the necessary skills and qualifications to apply.
'The Guernsey Sports Commission is looking forward to working with the new Hockey Development Officer and Guernsey Hockey on a continuing development plan for the sport,' said Steve.
